A Phone Plan That Helps You #SaveForSummer Road Trips

Road Trip Fun... Courtesy of Walmart Family Mobile

I’ve been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and Walmart Family Mobile*. All opinions are mine alone. #Save4Summer #CollectiveBias

Every Summer my family makes plans to take mini (just a few hours long) road trips on the weekends where we stop at a quaint small town, visit the local ice cream shop or other local favorites, walk around, and then head back home.

We live for these road trips every year. So much so that when the weather gets just right, we get a little wanderlust and crave leaving our city for a few hours to get to know holes in the wall that we’d have never gotten to know had we stayed in our haven-like cocoon.

You know what makes these trips a whole lot sweeter? Knowing that we’re not sacrificing something important when we decide to buy something out of town–in other words, being free to buy something that we would’t see in our city.

The ZMAX is bigger than these sungglasses

And that’s where Walmart Family Mobile (WFM) comes in. In a day and age where we need to stay connected all the time, WFM makes that a whole lot easier with its 4G LTE service. In fact, WFM is home to the lowest-priced unlimited plans. So if your plan doesn’t have AFFORDABLE 4G LTE, it’s time to switch.

BUT WHAT EXACTLY IS IT ABOUT WFM THAT ALLOWS US TO SAVE FOR SUMMER?

The price and all the bang included in that buck: WFM service is $29.88/month (for the first line) and includes Unlimited Talk, Text & Data (up to 1G of 4G LTE data). This is HUGE–or tiny, depending on how you look at it: For a family of three that was paying $180/mo. for service from a competitor (and that $180 excludes the almost 20% discount we were getting), the savings that this plan represent could allow us to take even more road trips, and buy even more treasures (and ice cream, haha) at the hidden gems that abound all around us.

WHAT ARE WFM PHONES LIKE?

You’d be impressed; I certainly was! For the purpose of this post I got the ZTE ZMAX, whose 5.7-inch HD touchscreen helps make it a monster of a phone. It’s funny because I used to say I’m not a fan of big phones–I thought my small hands couldn’t handle a big screen.

The ZMAX is HUGE!

But now I wonder how anyone even gets by with a small screen, hahaha! A big screen is definitely more fun to interact with. Plus, watching videos on it is the bomb! It certainly feels more immersive than on a small screen. The ZMAX also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, which produces very crisp photos–that look beautiful on that 5.7″ screen. Check the WFM main page for more on the phone and the plan.

Where could you find that phone and sign up for Walmart Family mobile?

At Walmart, of course! More specifically, the Electronics section: It may be a stand-alone display, an end-of-aisle display, or a usual phone/gadget display, like it was in my case. The employee in charge will be more than happy to assist you in selecting the phone for you, buying the Starter Kit so you can sign up for service, and even actually signing up for service if you’d rather do that at the store and not at home.

Walmart Family Mobile - DisplayHOW DO YOU #SAVEFORSUMMER?

We lowered our cellphone bill to almost half significantly this year. How do you usually save for summer? What are your typical Summer plans? I’d really like to know so leave me a comment!
