Recently, my family and I had the joy of attending the World FolkFest in Springville, Utah.
Overall, it was WAY fun. To see other cultures (besides Mexicans*) show us their traditional dances was a great experience. Moreover, there was also food from various regions in the world; I, for instance, had an Argentine sandwich, and our family shared a (Hawaiian?) “Strawberry delight” falafel cake– all from the comfort of a few feet’s walk.
After Colombia danced (more on that here!), though, we kind of left. It was after ten, we were an hour away from our casa, and were tired.
Anyways, without further ado, here are the countries that performed (in no particular order):
* No, I don’t have anything wrong against Mexico. Well maybe one thing, and it’s the fact that here in Utah, people have grown accustomed to thinking that “Hispanic” = Mexico only. It doesn’t. So yes, it was refreshing to find other Hispanics at this World fest.
