As I catch up on my #CatechismInAYear (b/c new baby), I like to take note of memorable quotes by #FrMikeSchmitz, and this one was SO good that I had to share it.

I watched a video of his a while ago on how cooperative prayer is (look up "Purpose of prayer Fr. Mike" on YouTube; it's a great one!): IIRC, God knows what you want but wants you to ask him because that turns your prayer into kind of a project that YOU are contributing to/cooperating with.

Paragraph 1091 of the #Catechism touches on that w/the Sacraments: They're cooperative in how they change us; we're not just passive observers--we're active participants.

Later on I want to touch on the most difficult paragraph I've encountered so far (thanks, Fr. Mike!). It's about death, and I definitely wasn't ready for it.

ISO meatless meal ideas! --> As I work to resurrect this account, I just wanted to share a tidbit I learned today courtesy of a #CatholicGuyShow replay. And that is that McD's filet-o-fish was invented Ohio, of all places. Idk much else about Ohio but I thought that was neat.

This brings me to #Lent, which I'm aware is several months away: We don't abstain from meat during Lent. Partly b/c we're imperfect #Catholics and partly b/c we forget 🤷‍♀️. To be fair, we're trying to be better.. buuut as a weightlifter, my husband's a big-time carnivore and it's easier to go along w/his menu that he makes than prep potentially non-filling meals.

HOW ABOUT YOU?? No need to "confess" whether you eat meat during Lent, but please share your favorite *filling* Lent meatless meal ideas 😊!

Homeschoolers can get #CanvaPro for FREE 🥳! As I work to resurrect this account, I thought I'd share a #Canva tip that made me almost jump for joy last night.

Like most, I had a free account, but while scrolling thru a homeschooling group, I learned that I could get a FREE Pro acct if I simply used my Homeschool Legal Defense Assoc. member ID 🤯.

So I applied, uploaded my 🪪, and <20 mins later, my acct was upgraded 😳!

💡BUT HERE'S THE BEST PART💡 If your oldest is <5YO, you qualify for a free HSLDA membership until they turn 5! Our oldest isn't 5 yet, but @HSLDA has been really useful so we're looking fwd to investing in a membership when the time comes.

So that's HSLDA + CanvaPro for free. What an absolute blessing.
