I’d like to welcome you into my corner of the web

I hope to entertain and inspire you

Here you’ll find an alternative outlook to the one that’s so often predicated as truth, and I hope you enjoy my tips and takes on modern topics.

Let me be honest for a minute

What I mean when I say I’m old fashioned and think against-the-norm

It’s simple, really

And it all started decades ago

  • When my parents and I (legally) moved to the States, I felt like our values were irrelevant here.
  • Here, most people seem to think, for instance, of their parents (and kids) as accessories, of alcohol as water, of God as nonexistent, and of sex as the only pastime–especially if you’re not married!
  • But it wasn’t until I was in my 20s that I learned that to many like me, all that was fortunately not true.
  • Since I wasn’t raised like that, I finally realized in college that it was about time I voiced what others like me thought.
  • Aside from my involvement in numerous school organizations, I more or less “hid” behind my shyness and never really voiced my opinion. I didn’t even keep a diary growing up.

Hence this blog

Though I wouldn’t trade my life here for anything and I’m ecstatic that our kids get to grow up here knowing they’re among the most fortunate in the world, I’m also blessed to be able to express myself through a medium that can reach many who also identify with my point of view.

Without further ado, Let’s get started!

mommy vloggers Give me the Ick

Get your kids offline

Exploiting children is wrong and your livelihood shouldn’t depend on them. If you’re a mommy vlogger, take note. And if you’re married to a mommy vlogger, protect your kids!

Be whom you’d like to be married to

Choose wisely; treat kindly

These posts may benefit wives and moms who want to be the kind of women their husbands enjoy being married to and coming home to, and that their children will cherish and respect.

Don’t shack up

Have a little respect

My husband and I waited because we weren’t cars that needed to be test-driven and I think viewing yourself (and your significant other) as such is gross and won’t make you happy. Don’t shack up or play house thinking that’s how you commit.

Don’t have kids you won’t raise

Anti-Daycare

I strongly believe most children are better off at home with Mom (or a loving relative) and NOT daycare, and I have little respect for parents who choose to “get rid” of theirs because money.

It’s OK to be over-protective

Your kids need you

My parents shielded me from so much and I cherish them for it. Don’t expose your children to things beyond their years. Here are reasons why they’ll prefer that you protect them instead:

fOR IMMIGRANTS:

Speak English Better

In this series of posts, I’m encouraging immigrants to speak English well. Telling immigrants to not speak English properly is racist and hurts them.

All the rage

Hot takes

In a world that takes silly things for granted, I’m here to remind you to go back to what matters–God and family. If you base your life off that, you’re golden.

Bitcoin is silly

Don’t waste your time

Here I debunk myths related to bitcoin–mainly that it will take over the world. No, it won’t: It’s sh!t and it’s broken. (My husband mined cryptocurrency and he has better recommendations.)

Home education

Keep them wholesome

We homeschool partly to help ensure our kids stay innocent for longer. It’s also nice they get to sleep in and we get way more time with them than the average student gets with his/her parents.

If you want help with your holy vocation

Don’t take it from me. Instead, take it from the tips I’ve gathered over my years as an (imperfect) homemaker and that I’ve written about and turned into useful printables that you can find in my Freebies Library.

In the meantime, if you’re feeling behind at home and want to change that, feel free to learn about my Reset eBook.
