Some of My Favorite Things – March & April 2026

HOLA, I'm Annie!

Bienvenid@s!

I'm Annie, my husband's girlfriend and our kids' full-time mom.

We homeschool, we start preparing for Christmas on November 1, and we stay sane largely by living out our faith and keeping our family offline.

This blog (which I launched in 2010) is my tiny space on the web to share my counter-cultural takes and show ways to embrace our vocations as wives and moms.

While we don't have social media, I occasionally retweet on "X." You're welcome to follow me [at] hiSweetAnnie.

SOME OF THE PERSPECTIVES THAT HAVE SHAPED the POVS on here

"If you choose wisely and treat kindly, you'll enjoy your time between now and dead." –Dr. Laura Schlessinger

If you insist there being studies for everything, you're perpetrating the idea that we can't just interpret the world or live in it as a function of intuitive knowledge. –Leila Marie Lawler

Love creates strong families. Strong families build peaceful, loving communities, which bring peace to the world. Homeschooling families are contributing to bringing peace to the world. –Mike Donelly @HSLDA.

You're not defined by your immutable characteristics. What defines you is how you serve your family, faith, and community, and how you lead the next generation. –Steven Crowder

We want the social imaginary of our homes and schools to be rooted in what is true, good, and beautiful. [Therefore], we have to look at the foundations of a faithfully Christian education. –Amanda Faus
