Another BEST Life Update: Welcoming Our Baby Girl!
The year 2023 will go down in our family’s history as the year we welcomed a precious little miracle in the form of a sweet baby girl.
All babies are miracles: That I know.
But this baby came after we lost her big baby brother the year prior. Somehow I knew at the hospital, while receiving treatment for that miscarriage, that “the next pregnancy will take.” I just knew.
And then we had our toddler’s little sister earlier this year.
Even though it was a textbook or uneventful pregnancy, oooh was I stressed and anxious! Of course. Then after more than 38 weeks, she decided she was ready. And she sure was, making her debut just a few hours after my contractions began. Just like her big brother.
They often say the transition from one to two kids is hard; I agree that it can be difficult in some ways.
But I also admit that it was easier than I expected in most other ways, which I was pleasantly surprised about!
These kids are our sunshines and their smiles and giggles light up our home. We’re so in love and I’m sometimes in disbelief and honored that I’m their mom.
Because I don’t post anything about our kids online (not even their pictures*), suffice it to say that we’re all doing great, happy, and healthy, and we’re looking forward to creating beautiful Christmas memories as a family of six (two living kids, our baby saint in Heaven, a pupper, and us the parents :).).
Thanks for sticking around! I’m excited for whatever 2024 has in store for us.
(Which may or may not include resurrecting my podcasts and/or pyrography business.. and/or perhaps starting a YouTube channel? I don’t know. All I know right now is that this motherhood thing is my passion, my vocation: And I don’t see myself prioritizing other things at the expense of my kids.)
*Kids don’t belong on social media or on the web, and we intend to respect our babies’ privacy, consent, and safety.
